     Kari Sigerson and Eliza Axelrod-Chidsey, Formerly of Sigerson Morrison are pleased to introduce Alumnae, a women's shoe collection for Spring/Summer 2016. The Alumnae brand is designed for the woman with cool confidence and a true sense of style. Effortlessly chic go-to shoes for girls in the know. Think Sofia Coppola, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Clemence Poesy. It’s about classics with courage and edge to be utterly modern: espadrille booties, hair calf sandals, hurraches  and tomboy loafers, made in buttery napa leather, sleek snakeskin, shimmery metallics, sherbet-y brights, with cool weighty hardware to tie it all together. What they are not, as Sigerson puts it, are “break -the-bank, sky-high man catchers, or precious party shoes for fashion victims”.

     The collection is a well-edited selection of essential pieces for those who understand that style transcends fashion, and subtleties of detail and quality will stand the test of time. Alumnae will launch for spring 2016 at The News showroom in New York City.

     Alumnae will launch with approximately 30-40 styles anticipated so sit confidently on the shelves of high end department stores like Barney's, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, and chic e-commerce boutiques like lagarconne.com, The Line, Netaporter, and thecorner.com. About the designers:

 Longtime collaborators, Kari Sigerson and Eliza Axelrod-Chidsey who first met at Sigerson's former namesake juggernaut, footwear label Sigerson Morrison, have a depth of European shoe experience, and have sourced shoes in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Their conviction is that non-disposable fashion is back in fashion, and that the materials and craftmanship have to reflect this quest for excellence. Supporting a tradition of quality and "intelligent hands" is important to the soul of the brand, with its less is more sensibility.
